Question
we pulled the weight to tight and will not move down. How hard is it to repair.

Answer
It depends on the circumstances.  In some instances it can be very easy and simple, in other's a first clase s.o.b., mostly the latter.  If you wish me to give you some direction I would need to have more information.  Mostly description of the clock.  As a first try I would suggest you hang some additional weight from the bottom of the offending weight.  That just might do it.  Regards WJP
