Question
I have an Ansonia Mantle clock circa 1882 or so.  The clock chimes and the hour and minute are not synchronized.  How can I get the hour and the chime to be the same?

The hour hand is friction fit to its shaft so all you need do is to grasp the hour hand as close to the shaft as you can, then turn it to the correct position.  Hold the minute hand with your other hand whilst positioning the hour hand.  Should you break the friction fir of the hour hand to its shaft during this operation, simply push the hand back towards the dial, this will re-establish the connection,  Regards WJP
