Question
I have a Black Forest #86 model 451-050H clock.  Was working and quit.  It was moved to me after it quit.  Will run a few minutes after you start pendulum but quits at about 5 minutes.

I believe the poor dear needs cleaning.  Take it to a local clock repair service for estimate and evaluation.  Before doing so make an exploratory visit for preliminary estimate and instructions as to how the clock should be delivered to the clock repair shop.  In my shop I preferred to have the client bring in the movement only.  We never expected the owner to re-install nor make the final adjustments themselves.  This was our responsibility and the only way we could guarantee the work.  Be wary of the clock repair person who insists you do the installation and final adjustments.  Regards WJP
