Clocks, Watches/Purchased A Used Ridgeway 1161 853bs

Question
Hello Martin:

I recently purchased a used Ridgeway 1161 853bs from a private seller.
I received only the owner's manual, no other ownership documents or information.  The clock is in excellent working condition and I am elated to finally own my first ever grandfather clock.

I obviously want to know all I can about it's year of manufacture, model, value, etc. along with maintenance schedule and any other pertinent information.  I'd also like to know if a used clock can be registered with Ridgeway.  I was disappointed to find that Ridgeway's website did not help with identifying this clock (except where to find the numbers in the subject of my email.)

Can you provide any further information on this clock, or let me know where I might find more info?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  In the meantime, I am thrilled to hear the beautiful chimes reverberate throughout my home!

Claudia

Answer
Hi Claudia,

Sorry for the delay, I've been trying to get additional information about Ridgeway Clocks to answer your question.

Ridgeway Clocks was purchased by Howard Miller Clocks some time ago, and information about clocks made by the previous Ridgeway company is very limited. The number you gave is the movement model number. If you can find a clock model number, which should be on a plate or label somewhere on or in the case of the clock, Ridgeway may be able to help you with identification. I would recommend phoning their customer service department at (616)748-2650, rather than using their website.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
