Question
I have a Trend Clock made in 1978.  In winding the chime, the spring broke, and I need to know the best place to purchase a replacement movement for the clock.  The number on the movement is 1050-020.

Hi Robert,

The 1050-020 is made by Hermle, and is available from many clock parts suppliers, among them www.clockworks.com, www.merritts.com, www.klockit.com and Butterworth Clocks (563) 263-6759. I would not be able to evaluate which is best. You only need the movement, so make sure that you don't purchase a kit which includes pendulum, dial and weights.

By the way, it is possible to replace just the mainspring and barrel assembly in this movement, and install it without completely disassembling the movement. However, on a movement as old as this one, I would consider replacing the whole movement.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
