Question
I am building a grandfather clock with movement hermle 1161-853. Could you please explain how and where I attach the second hand.

Answer
If your movement has the capability to run a second hand there will be a shaft above the hour and minute handshaft for the second hand to go on. This shaft looks like a pin and will stick out of the movement about 1".
Your second hand should have a tube sticking out of the back side of the hand. The tube goes through the small hole in the face that lines up with the second hand pin and presses over the pin.
Let me know if you need more information.
