Question
The metal part that holds the pendulum of our Daneker President Grandfather clock is missing. It got lost in our last move.
Where can I buy this part? It was a metal ring type of part that fit snuggly over the top of the pendulum stick, and had a hook at the top end. The clock won't work without this ring/hook part.
My husband bought this clock from Ethan Allen furniture store in Bedford, New Hampshire in 1976. The general technical information sheet that came with the clock had a hand written date on it, November 15, 1966. Maybe this is when the clock was made. The company's name is Million-Rutherford Company/Fallston, Maryland.

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Betty,

Pendulum hooks are available from clock supply houses like Timesavers (www.timesavers.com) or Merritts Antiques (www.merritts.com). Each make of movement requires a different pendulum hook. Additionally, there are old and new styles for some movements. I would recommend that you check the pictures of these parts in the online or printed catalogs of clock supply houses, and try to find one which looks exactly like your old one. You also need to select the correct size; some pendulum sticks are 3/4" and some are 1".  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
