i HAVE A HERMAN MILLER GRANDFATHER CLOCK  THE HOURLY CHIME IS OUR OF SINK.  EXAMPLE- WHEN IT IS 4OO THE CHIME STRIKES TWICE INSTEAD OF 4 TIMES AND SO ON.  CAN YOU ADVISE

Answer
Okay your hour hand is out of sync with the strike.  The hour hand of your clock is friction fit so correction is very simple.  Here is what to do.  1. Stop the clock.  2. with one hand grasp the minute hand,  3. with the other hand grasp the hour hand at a position as close to the hour hand shaft as you can.  With the one hand hold the minute hand in what ever position it be in, with the other hand move the hour hand two hours forward.  With this action you will have brought your clock into sync.  Start the clock and set for correct time in the normal manner.
The key to this operation is to move the hour hand while freezing the minute hand in position.
