Clocks, Watches - Howard Miller/Barwick Clock #4875

Expert: Kenneth Saunders - 4/7/2009

Question
QUESTION: Mr. Saunders, I recently became the owner of my "family clock" and the pendulum arm as well as one weight is in need of replacement.  Can you tell me the likelihood of finding these replacement parts and suggest a source?  Thank you.

ANSWER: what is a pendulum "arm'?  not a clock term- which weight? - not all the same.

need the stamped info off the back brass plate of the mechanism itself to help.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Thank you for your speedy response.  The back of the brass plate says: Howard Miller Manufacturing Company (below that something I can't make out) then: Made in Germany.  To the right of this it says UW32/1 146990.  The pendulum "arm" I refer to is probably the pendulum.  I have the brass disk that fits on to it but not the part that swings. Also the missing weight is the farthest left, as one faces the clock. If you need an photo I can take one and send to you. Thanks again.

Answer
weight can look different but weigh the same - polished or brushed brass - different diameter - length etc. you can buy one or buy a set of three - gets complicated.

the weight is 4.5 lbs as is the center one - the right one should be 6.6 lbs.  http://www.timesavers.com/catalogmain2.asp?ProductID=13929&submit1=Search

the movement is an Urgos German mvt. current number is 32319

80cm long (31.44") measured from the suspension point to the tip of the pendulum. this length includes the "leader" the top brass 6-8" piece

does the pendulum leader look like this?:

and measure its length for me.

did the clock have a wood stick above the disk? the disk have kind of an oval slot in the back about 3/4" long?
