Question
Hello - I have a Wards 30-day clock that we originally bought for my parents, probably in the '60s.  It's one with the octagonal design at the top with a pendulum showing in the door window below. I was told by one "clock repairman" that it was Japanese, and therefore better quality than the later Taiwanese versions.  It's been "cleaned and repaired" by two different people - it's now far worse than before and seems to be binding (the second guy replaced bushings). Do you know where I could send the movement to have it repaired properly ?

Thanks very much.

Answer
Obviously your clock needs servicing.  Equally as obvious is you are not getting quality servicing.  Surely the person that did the bushing work warrented his work?  If I were in your position I would be raising hell and putting a brick under it.  Perhaps one of the repair persons, who worked on your clock, could at least offer you guidance towards getting your clock to function properly.  If you cannot find anyone to do this for you, try going into the web site <local.com>  This will open a screen wherein you enter your community name and/or zip code and the type of service you require.
In your instance you would enter "Billings Montana" and "clock Repair" as the service required.  This will reward you with a list of name you may choose from.  Other than the above I don't know what else I can do to help you.  I sure wish I could.  Let me know how this turns out.  Regards WJP
