Question
I have a aeon grandfather clock, #2806.  i have tried to reset it, but it continues to chime 2 chimes behind the hour.  What's up with that?  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Answer
You need to reposition your hour hand.  Here's how.  Wait for the clock to start striking an hour, stop the clock.  Since the vast majority of clocks have friction fit hour hand, proceeds as follows.  For our example presume the clock has struck 10 times but the hour hand is pointing to 12, while holding the minute hand to prevent it from moving, grasp the hourhand as close to its shaft as you can and turn it till it points to 10.  Start the clock and set to correct time in normal manner.  The key to this operation is that you do not allow anything but the hour hand to move during the correction.  This should do it for you.  Regards WJP
