Question
I can hear a click inside the clock while checking the chimes, however the chimes don't sound.  Is there a switch, or something, that turns the chimes on and off?  This clock is all mechcanical.

Answer
I am not familiar with Diplomat Clocks, however I presume it does have a setting lever for the chime.  The clicking you hear is the cocking of the train, this always precedes its release and playing of melody.  This is good news!  I suspect the select lever of your clock is somehow hung up between settings.  Not being familiar with Diplomat, I need more information in order to make judgment as to what to do.  Send me all the information stamped upon the movements brass backplate.  This would likely identify the movement used in your clock.  Regards WJP
