Question
QUESTION: I own the above clock, model 2854-883 D-battery, chimes on the hour & 1/2 hour.  Replaced the battery, advanced through 6 hours to re-power - nothing happens.  Is there anything else that can be done?

ANSWER: Are you saying the clock stopped chiming?
Did you swing the pendulum to get it running again?

QUESTION: I did swing the pendulum, it works for a couple of minutes and the pendulum stops, the clock and or chimes do not work at all.  Do I need the entire mechanism?  Is it available?

Answer
There is a bim bam movement that we sell. It is quartz so the pendulum will swing but has nothing to do with the timekeeping. The clock will keep time no matter what the pendulum is doing. It is a little larger than the old movements but the chime rods are built into it. You can see it on the following page:
