Question
I got this watch when my grand mother pass away in 1989,She never told me any thing about the watch I think it was her father s or grand fathers' not sure  she was born in 1898.the only info i could find in the watch was the maker name Wadsworth,Pilot,20 years & the #744600.please help me find out more the face has ten small ruby's and some gold floral design it also has stop 60 second stop watch and ship wheel pattern above the number engraving Le H in side the back

Answer
Connie,

I will be glad to help in any way.

For starters, the watch CASE is made by Wadsworth, but not the watch.

They were case makers only.

20 years tells us that the case is gold filled and guaranteed that the gold will not wear through to the base metal for 20 years.

If you can open the back of the watch and look at the movement, you will see writing on it that will tell you who made it.  Using the serial number, we can determine the age.

To open it, turn it like you are opening a jar.  The back will screw off most likely.

IF YOU SEE HINGES, THEN IT DOES NOT SCREW OFF.

Get that far and send me another post with the information you find.

Kind regards,

Melvin
