Question
From what I have been able to glean, I have a 1924, open
face, 17jewel (Waltham works,) serial #24680458.

The watch does not keep time.

I am wondering if it is worth having it repaired.

Dan

Answer
Dan,

That is really a personal question.

I personally love antique pocket watches and would encourage
everyone to get them fixed and keep them in perfect working condition.

For one, that will make them more enjoyable for the owner.
It is not much to look at if the movement is not working after all.

As far as I am concerned, if a watch does not work, it is not a watch but a paperweight.

In dollars, the watch would probably cost about $150 to repair.

Kind regards,

Melvin
