Question
Could you please give me some more information about my 14K gold pocket
watch?  It has standard numerals (i.e. 1234)  It has the winder at the 3 o'clock,
hinge at the 9.  The outside has a beautiful design of flowers on the back and a
crest symbol on the front.  The face is pure white with these letters:  LAW L.
MOORE CO.  There is no glass on the face.  Thank you so much!

Answer
Gail,

When a watch has the crown at the 3o'clock position, it is called a sidewinder.  There is no functional reason for this  layout.  It is just for style.

this is a private label watch.  that means that the manufacturer puts a jeweler's name on the watch, in this case LAW L.
MOORE CO.

If you can open the back, you will see writing on the movement.  That will tell you who  the manufacturer is.

Kind regards,

Melvin
