Question
Hello Mr. Radi,
Our grandfather clock is set at 10:45, but dongs 12 o'clock.  Heaviest weight is on the right...Sun is straight up and it is eve.  How do we set the clock properly, we are afraid to touch it.

thank you
Scott

Answer
If your clock does all of the chimes in order but ends up striking the hour at 15 till The hands are probably on wrong. I would like to know what kind of movement is in the clock though.
Jauch movements are reset differently than most.
I'll go with the assumption that it is not a Jauch.
To get the clock to strike at the top of the hour you must remove the minute hand and put it back on the clock in a position 15 minutes ahead of where you took it off. Usually there is a small nut holding the minute hand on.
To get the hour in the correct position simply move it forward two hours.
I don't know what you mean when you say the sun is straight up. Are you talking about the moon dial?
Let me know if this does not correct your problem.
