Question
The clock does not strike on the quarter, half or hr. Is the movement locked?  If so how do I release the lock.  Things seem to be moving. All the levers are on so I'm confused as to what the problem might be.

Answer
Since everything is moving and no sound is being generated, I suspect the gong hammers are locked out of proper position.  I presume your clock has removable side panels that allow you to look into the clocks movement.  Remove those panel and set the clock chimes in motion.  If the hammers do indeed move but do not strike the rods let me know.  If the hammers do not move at all, let me know that too.  Along with the information requested above also provide me with all the information that is stamped upon the clock movements back plate.  This will identify to me the exact movement involved.  That with your responses to the above will permit me to correctly evaluate the condition.  Regards WJP
