Question
Greetings Sir;

I have a clock with a "Franz Hermle 351-021 (45cm)" movement.  It has a broken Suspension Spring and is need of a little cleaning and lubrication.

Q1) Where can I get a parts-list for this particular model of clock movement?  The reason I ask is that I looked for a replacement Suspension Spring, and have found them in different sizes (e.g., 0.0035, 0.0040,...) (REF: http://www.timesavers.com/findbydesc/SearchCatalogMain.asp?ProdDesc=hermle)

Q2)  What should I use for cleaning and lubrication?  I have seen numerous types of oils and such, and don't want to inadvertently make it worse by using the wrong thing.

Thank-you, in advance, for your advice.

Answer
The correct suspension spring is our SS-0060. You can see it here:

You can't clean the movement without removing the mainspring barrels because you can let cleaning solution get inside the barrels. It would cause the springs to corrode. I suggest that you oil the movement or have a qualified clock repair person do the cleaning.
