QuestionQUESTION: I was just given a Gravely Furniture Company grandfather clock that is not
working. I have disassembled the mechanism and there is a broken gear. Can
you tell me where I can get parts and also an idea of the age. On the back of
the movement there is a number 4405. Thanks.
ANSWER: By the information you are providing you are asking for a selection to be made out of literally thousands of possibilities. At the very least one would need to know what kind of movement are we considering. I need some very basic information to even refer you to a likely source. Regards WJP

QUESTION: It is a chain and weight driven mechanical movement.
ANSWER: Your question is not unlike saying I need a chain hook. I simply must have some definition. Regards WJP

QUESTION: I didn't realize this was a complicated question. Where can I locate a source
of parts for this chain driven mechanical movement on a Gravely Furniture
Company grandfather clock? Gravely was purchased by Ridgeway and is one
of the largest producers of grandfather clocks in the world. The purchase
occurred in the 60's but I don't know how long Gravely continued to use their
name on the movements. In particular I'm looking for a replacement gear in
the mechanism. Thanks.
AnswerI cannot help you. Again there are literaly thousands of gears out there, to select one out of that group to do what in what kind of movement is not likely. You need to do some research to at least identify the movement maker, the model number and what gear with in the three trains you are talking about. I suggest two things. 1. take the clock to a clock repair person to see if he could help you identify your needs. 2. Contact Ridgeway customer service. I must admit I have never heard of Ridgeway being a paragon of help. I would like to help you. Regards WJP
