Question
My future mother-in-law's Hermle 2214 quartz wall clock stopped working.  I have been able to get the clock to keep time and chime (new batteries and some fidgiting with the post the hands are on) but the pendulum won't keep pendulating (is that even a word?)  Is the pendulum powered by the batteries?  Perhaps not getting a good contact?  Any thoughts?

Answer
These movements have an inherent problem. I have sold hundreds of them but so many were returned that I stopped selling them altogether.
The factory says to use Duracell Copper Top batteries because the shape of the battery presses on the connectors correctly. I don't have any success doing this.
I have disassembled some of the movements to find that if I bend the circuit board it will toggle between intermittently working/not workng.
Yes, the pendulum is powered by one of the batteries. One battery is for the time and pendulum, the other is for the music.
You could try the copper top batteries.
