Yes ,thank you for taking the time to answer my question ! I purchased an Rebecca Boone Model Grandmother Clock With the moon phase and with West Minister chimes around 1973 . It has stopped working and I have been told that the Herschede  Clock company has gone out of business , do you have any ideas where I could send it to ,or bring it to that would Guarantee their work ? I live in Baton Rouge ,La.

Any reputable professional clock repairer will guarantee their work. I would note that a clock repairer can only guarantee the actual work that he does; if you only have the clock oiled and adjusted (a routine house call), the clock repairer cannot guarantee the overall operation of the clock. A 1973 clock very likely needs a "cleaning and overhaul", in which the entire movement is disassembled, worn bearings are rebushed, and other repairs are done as needed. This type of repair should come with a guarantee on the overall operation of the clock.

I would recommend having the work done locally so the repairer can reinstall and properly set up the repaired movement in your home. Other than the local yellow pages, you should look at Yahoo and Google local business listings and the awci.com and nawcc.com websites, which are the two national clock repairers' organizations.
