Question
My clock does not strike the bell on top. I have written you before and you asked me for numbers on the movement. There are no numbers on this clock. can you tell me what I need to fix it by the model and type of clock(waggon-on-wall)Please advise me what I could possibly do to fix it myself. What piece is needed to make toe striker hit the bell on top. Thanks again

Answer
Different manufacturers used different parts to make bells strike. I have no idea what you are missing. Usually there is a wheel that rotates and has teeth that lift the bell hammer. If it bell is lifting you need not worry about these parts.
If the bell is lifting but not snapping toward the bell you probably have a spring issue. There is usually a spring that pushes the hammer toward the bell. This spring could be wrapped around the shaft that the hammer is attached to or it may be attached to the movement.
If you send me some photos of the movement, the pivot point of the hammer assembly and any parts that interact with the hammer rod I can try to be of more help.
