Question
the movement has been replaced with D- battery powered drive,

5-9 yrs ago. the clock has been out of service for some

years and is inoperable now-the pendulum swings with ease.

can the patient be made well??

Answer
Hi Ralph,

Battery/quartz clocks have no repairable parts. If the battery is 5-9 years old, it should be replaced whether the clock has been running or not. Other than replacing the battery, there is nothing you can do but replace the movement. Many replacement movements are available. You will not find one similar to your original movement, but you should be able to find one that fits in your clock. You must be careful to get a movement with the same handshaft length as the original. Installation is usually very easy.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
