Question
QUESTION: I have an E. Howard two dial movement with no identify except E. Howard 12 1/2(which I assume is the pendulum length)Would like to know where this type movement was used also a model number if available.
ANSWER: I am impressed by your movement! I suspect it was intended as a hall clock displaying a face to traffic from either direction. In my opinion it was an indoor clock and probably one of Howard's round series of clock and numbered in the numeric 30's group. You have a worthy research project at hand. Regards WJP

QUESTION: Would there be any further information in E. Howard archives?
I am trying to find something on paper telling me what this movement was actually used for. We have a 2" inch weight drop in 48 hours. I am thinking this would make a strange looking clock case.
I am adding a front dial photo.
THANKS
Dave
AnswerAll the information I fall back upon is derived from experiences. In years passed I maintained a credible reference library. About a decade ago I broke my library up, donating it to establishments that would give it the largest exposure. In other words I no longer have at hand the reference works that would readily enable me to research the question at hand. If you know a source for "Howard archives", I urge that you make use of it. As stated before you have a worthy research project at hand. Although your two pictures were not conclusive, the movement seems to be of the 30 hour configuration. If so this is indeed strange. Why would anyone want a 30 hour two faced clock? Anyway I wish you success in unraveling this dilimma. Regards WJP
