Question
I have a mantel clock with Hermle 791-081 movement and lost the key. Where can I get a replacement key and what do I ask for. Some sites have single keys but ask sizes like #4 or #8 etc. hanks if you could help me.

Winding keys are available from any good clock supply house, such as Timesavers (www.timesavers.com) or Merritts Antiques (www.merritts.com). Key sizes vary by quarter-millimeters, so getting the correct size is important. "Commercial grade" keys are very inexpensive and you can purchase several keys that are about the right size for your clock and try them to see which is the best fit. I would recommend going by the millimeter sizes rather than the number sizes, as the numbering systems are not well-standardized.
