my cuckoo clock bird comes out at the wrong time almost vice versa it tell the time on the half-hour and runs slow

PS this is an 8 day clock made in Germany that my brother brought back in the seventies

sliding the wood leaf up the swinging stick speeds the clock up - it may be loose on the stick.

some can be made to strike on the hour simply by moving the minute hand from the "6" to the #12 while it is doing the hour strike. (if not- get back to me)Then move the short hand to point at the number it strikes and then set the correct time with the minute hand as usual.
