Question
I was given a seth thomas floor clock with a model number of E650-004. It has a chime and needs winding every 8 days. Would you know how old it is? Someone appears to have wound it tight and now it won't operate. Is it worth fixing?

Answer
this is a SPRING driven floor clock , not a weight driven clock? Tight is good- not your problem in not having it work-- other things. The back of the mechanism itself will have info stamped into the brass plate that will date it --advise
