Clocks, Watches/Cuckoo clock dancers aren't dancing

Question
Our cuckoo clock is working fine, except the dancers have stopped their movement.  The weight seems "stuck" at the top. It doesn't descend.  The cuckoo and clock weights descend normally.

Answer
Hello Mary,

Not sure how old the clock is but if it is over 8 years old it may be caused by bushing wear.

or one of the dancers may be in a bind.  Try to gently move a dancer to the left and right at the moment they would normally start dancing.

or remove the weight or at least lift the weight slightly and then move the min hand to start the strike process and after it is completed replace the weight and give it a slight tug.  after all this fiddling it still dosent start a clocksmith will need to look at it.  The music box is usually the first thing to cause problems because of wear.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help
