Question
I have a King Arthur #451-050H Grandfather Clock that I have received from my Aunt. I need the manual for this clock as I can not get the sun/moon dial at the top to work and I would like to have the clock stop chimming in the middle of the night and I am sure there is a way to stop that. Can you help me out on this?

King Arthur clocks has been out of business for many years, so an owner's manual is not available.
The dial at the top is a moon dial, not a sun/moon or day/night indicator. It clicks forward once per day, showing the phase of the moon. When you see the whole moon centered in the moon dial window, it indicates a full moon. Conversely, when you see no moon at all, it indicates a new moon. If the moon dial does not move forward one click per day, it is not working properly. You should have a professional clock repairer address this problem, as there are numerous causes of moon dial malfunction.
The 451-050H movement does not have Night Silent provision. Your clock may have a Chime/Silent lever, usually in the dial near the "3", which you can turn to Silent at night to prevent chiming. http://www.clockmasteronline.com
