Question

Verichron quartz clock
How can I disable the chime on my Verichron quartz westminster chime clock AND also on my David Dakota quartz westminster chime clock? Both are battery-operated pendulum clocks.

Answer
Hi Beverly,

If the movement in your clock has a feature to turn off the chime, it will be a switch on the back of the movement. Clock manufacturers do not make their own movements, but use movements from many different movement manufacturers, so I cannot tell what movement you have from your information. The Chime Silent switch often is labeled by an image of a bell with a line through it diagonally.

Note that most quartz movements do not have a Chime Silent feature. One common one that does have such a feature is the Hermle 2114, 2115, 2214 and 2215.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
