Question
I was given a Seth Thomas West Minister Chime Clock, the clock counts on the hour but it's one hour a head how do I get it back on track

Answer
Hi Helen,
Sorry to have taken so long to reply.

Since it is a chime clock we can go a couple of ways.  If is chiming correctly and only counting the hour wrong then you can very carefully move the short hour hand back or forward to the hour that it just counted. You may feel a little resistance but that is because the hand is friction
fitted to the hour tube that it is on.  Moving this hand does nothing to the inside of the clock so dont worry.

If it is chiming wrong you can take the long minute hand and move it counterclockwise till you hear it clicking then move it forward to a quarter hour.  If that corrects it you are finished, if nor repete until it is right.  Westminster chimes 4 notes at 1/4 past, then 8 notes at 1/2 past, 12 notes at 1/4 till and 16 notes on the hour then it strikes the hour.
Hope this helps.  Feel free to call me if you have questions.
