Clocks, Watches/Baldwin Clock

Question

Baldwin Clock
Hello,

I hope you're able to answer me concerning the following.

Through the death of my parents, we've inherited a Baldwin clock which mounts on a wall.

It appears the model of the clock is W 250 C MAH (it's very difficult to make out the 0 after the 5, but I believe it's a 0)

The serial # is 0034 976

My questions are as follows:
1)  What makes this clock operate?  I think I remember my father telling me it needs to be "wound" but I can't find a key or where one would wind the clock

2)  I can't determine what makes the pendelum move.

The clock is keep time, but for how long?

I've attached a picture of the clock for your reference.

There is tremendous sentimental value in this clock so I'll want to keep it in my family for many years.

I'll gladly compensate you if you can help me with my questions.

Thank you.

Ron Ramsey

Answer
Hi Ron,

The clock is powered by three mainsprings which are wound by inserting the winding key in the three holes in the face of the clock and turning clockwise until the springs are wound as far as they will go. The clock should be wound once a week. If you do not have a winding key, they are available from any clock supply house. The power from the center mainspring keeps the pendulum swinging.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
