Clocks, Watches/Ingraham pocket watch

Question
My mother (85) has an Ingraham pocket watch that she says her uncle purchased long ago in Canada. It has the word "STURDY" on its front, and a smaller dial to measure seconds.  The little piece that you use to wind the watch is missing.  Local watch shops have told me I need to get the part "from the factory", which I suspect is no longer in business.  Do you have any suggestions?  Thank you!

Answer
Liz,

You are correct in saying the factory is not longer around.

I am surprised to hear that from watch shops.  Although they are not common, the parts are not
rare either.

Send me a picture at millswatchrepair at gmail dot com and I will tell you what you are in for.

Kind regards,

Melvin
