Question
I have a Waltham pocket watch (hunter style) . Serial number is 24849596. It's 14kt with a long chain.  Any idea of the history or value of the watch?
Thank you

Answer
Per my allexpert resume', which led you to me, I respond only to questions relating to mechanical clocks.  However, in this instance I will provide the following.  Your watch is a size 12, has 17 jewels, is a grade 225 hunting cased movement.  It was made between the years 1921 and 1927.  There were 50,000 of that grade produced during that period.  I suspect you have a fairly valuable watch there and suggest you get an insurance appraisal on it.  A word of caution, do not sell the watch to the appraisor or to any buyer he might suggest.  Forgive me if I appear jaded, but I do feel compeled to issue these words of caution.  Regards WJP
