Clocks, Watches/weights

Question
We are looking for weights availability for a Trend Clock, model 841A, movement 100, that we plan to purchase (sans weights)from a local antiques store.  Providing, of course, we can find the weights.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Frankly I would be leery about buying a clock without its weights, if for no other reason than you cannot test drive the clock.  Why would not the present owner buy the weights and increase the cost accordingly, thus enabling potential buyers to see the clock runs properly.  Is there something to hide?  Is the pendulum correct to the clock?

If you do decide to buy the clock, "as is", I suggest you arm yourself with the knowledge of what other out of pocket expenses might be involved.  For example;  If the weights are missing so are the weight shells and probably chains or cables as well.  You can obtain price quotations for your needs from either of the following clock materials houses.  Merritt's Antiques, TimeSavers, Ronell Clocks.  Each of these houses sell to the public as well as to the trade and maintain a presence, including on-line catalogs on the Internet.
