Clocks, Watches/Seiko Melodies Clock Repair?

Question
Hi Michael, I was given a seiko melodies clock from my mother and we recently moved to another state and when I unpacked my clock I noticed the melodies would not play. I went and bought new batteries and still no melodies and no movement but the time still works? Even when I push the demo button for the melodies I get nothing? Is this something that maybe you could explain to me on how I could fix it or what do you recommend? The warranty expired and I have no idea where to take it let along how much it would cost for repair?
The Seiko Clock I have is the same as this one: http://www.fitzulas.com/page/CnJ/SBB-Seiko-Clock-Melodies-in-Motion/QXM116BRH
if that helps you any?

THANK YOU!

Answer
Hi Jodi, quartz movements are not considered repairable. If you put the battery in correctly and the demo button does not make the music play I would say the movement has died.
The only solution is to replace the movement with a new one. Seiko parts can only be obtained from a Seiko dealer through a company called Coserve. You can ask a jewelry store or watch repair store that is a Seiko authorized dealer to get you a price. There is a number under the battery that you will have to give to the dealer. They can call Coserve for a price and availability.
