Question
I bought a Howard Miller floor clock(grandfather clock) and would like to find some information on its age. It may be pretty modern. But the serial number is 270-293. If you don't know could you help me to try and find information on this..Thanks                  scherrie cromer

Answer
I don't know of any reference guide that would tell us how old the clock is by the serial number.
I would like for you to check the back of the clock movement. If it is a Hermle clock movement it should have a date stamp. This could be either a two digit year (77 = 1977) or it could be a single letter. You will need to get to the back of the clock and look inside at the brass plate that holds all of the gears into the clock.
Please let me know what you find.
