I find nothing to change the chime setting with

QUESTION: Iguess you would call it mechanical. There is three holes in the face of the dial to wind i. My manual said there is a slot on the side of the face to change the type of chime to one of three choices. I can't find any such slot anywhere on the clock. I have had the clock since 1990 and it runs great, but I thought it would be nice to try the other chimes. Thank you for nay help you can give
AnswerIf indeed your clock is fitted with a chime selector lever it would most likely be visible as follows; 1, Through a slot in the dial located at 3 o-clock. 2. From the back of the clock via a lever protruding beyoud the edge of the back plate. Often times clock come with a generic manual that cover options not necessarily present on the clock. An easy way to tell if your clock is indeed fitted with the chime selector option is to count the number of hammers on the chime side of the clock. If the count is six, or more, the clock is a multichime version. If after making a positive identification, you still cannot find the lever, take it to a clock repair person and have him locate it for you. Regards WJP
