Question
QUESTION: I have a 1975 New England 14-day cathedral gong calender regulator clock. I believe it was over-wound and my Dad tried to replace the movement and discarded the original, but kept the pendulum and face. (I know) The clock company no longer exits. Where can I find information on the type of movement that was put in this clock? Do you think it is possible to restore it? My daughter has such fond memories of it at her grandparents house and she's asked me to see if it could be restored to as close as possible to the original. I've included a picture of what it used to look like.
ANSWER: measure for me the length of the pendulum from the hooks to the bottom of the threaded nut under the disk
measure the space between the two winding holes on the dial and between a winding hole and the center handshaft
is there a back on the clock that comes off easily that you could take a photo of the back insides?
do you have the coiled gong that used to be mounted inside the back near the mechanism?
