Question
I have a Pearl grandfathers clock. I do not know how to operate it properly. There is no paper work or booklet with it. Inside on the upper back wall is a label that has these numbers on it if they mean anything. ( 433-6760, under that number is made in USA & 9914 9/85) It has 3 weights, two of which seem to be the same size and weight, one is larger and heavier. I think that the weights manage the time, choice of chimes but don't know in which manner they are to be hung. The sun dial over the clock face is a puzzle to me also.
Another thing that I noticed is that the spool on the far left has wire that go around lowering or raising the weight.(however it does not move) because the wire is over lapping a clear plastic tab that lays on the spool of wire. How can I get that strain of wire in line with the spool and not on top of the clear plastic? It seems that is what is keeping it from dropping and working properly. The clock does tick...tock...tick...tock..., what appears to be normal, the pendulum swings and keeps the correct time. It use to chime on the hour, 1/2 hr. and 1/4 hr. but since I moved a few things, knobs, handles etc. it now does not chime on those hrs, 1/2 hr. 1/4 hr. and never did bong on the hour since I have had it. Now I don't remember how to set any of it to get it to chime and bong on the hours. Can you please send me some instructions on how to operate it? I do appreciate your time and help. Thank you, Rose in N.J.

the heaviest weight goes on the right as you open the door

it is a MOON dial not a SUN dial--shows by image what the moon looks like in the sky - indexes one notch each day - 29 1/2 is a lunar month it is not a calendar.

try taking the weight off the left and putting the wire back under the plastic clip

report back after you try this stuff......
