Question
Hi ken, hopefully you can help me. my grandfather clock is wound to tight.the left side was wound all the way up by my daughter it keeps time and is still ticking the right weight and the left weight will not move the middle weight does and it is no longer chiming. is there anything i can do to fix this. this clock was my husbands grandmothers and means a lot to us. hope you can help us

Answer
first- your daughter did NOT wind it too tight-up is UP and that is what you do to the weights.

it has stopped chiming and striking for some other reason

any levers in the dial by #3 ? are they in the "silent" position?

is the heaviest weight on the right side?

how old is the clock?

advise..........
