Clocks, Watches/installing a 1161 hermle movement

Question
I purchased a replacement cable movement and it has 3 orange slides on the 3 cable winds.  It appears that they should come off prior to mounting on the board? Along with the plastic also on the winds?  My final problem is that the case was a tube chime and the back board is only 1/4 inch material.  Is that sufficient for the gong unit? Or should the back be reinforced?

Answer
I'm sorry, the information you have provided is contrary to my experience.  To my knowledge the 1161 was never built for tubular chimes.  The only tubular chime I am aware of was Hermle's series 890 in the 1171 model.  The tubular chimes are suspended from a horse collar attached to the seat board or the back plate itself.  As to the plastic clips they are required to keep the cable spooled over the winding drum.  Regards WJP
