Question
I purchased this clock and it keeps perfect time. The chimes don't work however. when I removed the side panel I see that the chime switch is just flopping. I suspect this is whats causing the problem. The switch doesn't look like it is contacting anything.

Answer
Sometimes this happens when the chime drum gets stuck in the middle of a song. First check to be sure that the heaviest weight is on the chime side (right side as you face the clock).
One thing to try is gently pull all of the chime hammers back away from the chime rods.
You can do this through the side panel. Simply put your fingers on top of the hammers and pull them toward the side of the clock.
Let me know if this does not correct your problem.
