Question
QUESTION: I picked up this clock at a flea market but it doesn't run properly.  It works when the pendulum is removed, but goes way too fast.  When the pendulum is replaced, it runs briefly then stops and will not restart.  I have no idea how to access the information inside the clock.

Can you tell me how to get the information you need and what I might be able to do to get it to run properly?  Thank you for your help.

ANSWER: listen to the tick with the pendulum on and move the bottom of the clock on the wall to the left or right till the tick sounds most even--and see what happens

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: wound clock and put on wall.  Tried moving the bottom both left and right but it would not continue to keep time for more than three minutes before stopping.  The tick sounded fairly even when it worked.

ANSWER: problems are internal --YOU going to take the hands and dial off and start work? or take it to a pro or put it in the next garage sale

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I'm willing to open up this clock, in fact I already have.  It may have been over-wound at some point.  Would the spring need to be replaced or could it be something else?  Also, do you repair mail in items, and what are your rates?

Answer
got a photo you can attach??

make sure the pendulum wire is hanging in the middle of the loop of metal coming out of the ticking part of the mechanism.

are there spaces in the spring coils? if so not fully wound up.

not the spring unless broken --no I do not--no rate chart.
