Question
This is about a Junghans A13 pendulum clock numbered 106.having stripped it down for cleaning,I find the strike sounds once before the chime on the hour.everything else works OK. What have I not done correctly?
 HELP!
I await your reply.
                      Thank You

Answer
when the hour chime first trips and gets to the end of the chime sequence, a lever is lifted to trip the hour srike and release the rack to fall, BUT until the lever drops, it holds back the gear that drives the flat fly governor by catching a pin on the side of said gear. Yor problem I think is the pin is in the wrong position in relation to the lever lifting in that the pin goes past and does not get caught until it comes around again (meantime allowing one bong)

You need to let down the springs and sneak-spread open the corner of the plates at the top, remove the fly, gently disengage the gear that drives the fly, rotate it perhaps a 1/4 rotation or so and replace both and try again. questions?
