Question
I can not find where I am to wind up this clock, could it be that it does not need winding?.
                  Thank you

Answer
You didn't give me much information upon which to base a response.  Since you say it is a grandfather clock and apparently there are no keyholes in the dial, I presume it would be weight driven movement with the weights suspended by chains.  You would wind such a clock by pulling the weights up.  This is done by pulling down on the chains free end.  You will hear a ratchet engaging as the weight rises.  Don't pull the weights up tight, allow at least 2" of chain between the weight and the bottom of the clock movement.  If this is not the way your clock should be wound you will have to give me a fighting chance with some sort of reasonable description.  Regards WJP
