Question
i have two grandfather clocks, one for 17 years and the other for about 12 years and they have never been served. do they need to be serviced?  they run fine???

Answer
Servicing your clock is similar to having the oil changed in your car. If you have it done regularly you will extend its life. The oil breaks down, dissipates or dries up in two to three years. Clocks should be oiled every two years. If this is not done the clock movement can wear out prematurely.
