Question
QUESTION: This clock set is in white porcelain, with two side vases, looks like transfer ware.  Clock has name Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik, and Schramberg, Germany on it, plus a trademark of an "Aladdin's Lamp" on back and face of clock, clock is a little over 3" in diameter.  Blue and white 3 pc set has the name Germany, and 25 under each piece.  Would like to find out a little more on them, can't find anything on this Aladdin trademark.  Thank you in advance.  Evan

ANSWER: There is a lot of information out there on HAC.  Too much for me to summarize.  I suggest you go onto Google and search the subject "hamburg american clock co."  I also refer you to the book "Hamburg American and Junghans clocks" by Hans A Krauss.  Regards WJP

QUESTION: Any info at all on the "Aladdin Lamp" trademark on the face and on the back of the clock?  Looks just like an aladdin's lamp, with the flame on the tip of the spout.

Answer
Actually Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabric was started as a consortium of small clock makers joined together to compete with major German clock exporters.  Most of them continued to use their own logo's under the consortium banner for a period of time before amalgamating into an actual production firm.  The Aladdin Lamp being one of them.  I really don't know anymore about it.  Again I suggest you make use of the resources I pointed out to you in my original response.  I wish you success in your research.  Regards WJP
