Question
I have a grandmother's floor clock about 4 feet tall. It has a pendulum and springs. I am unable to identify the maker of the works.I have looked carefully at the works but found no plaque, no name or numbers.Would you be able to tell me if I sent some pictures of the works? I am befuddled.

Answer
If there is any information on your clock it would be stamped or engraved on the clock movements brass backplate.  To see this you would need to gain access to the back of the movement.  Perhaps by removing the back of the case, or, removing the dial and pulling the movement out the front.  I would not recommend you attempt to do the later.  If you do gain access to the backplate, copy down and send me all the data thereon.  A picture or two might be helpfull.  At 4 feet tall your clock would be termed a "Granddaughter Clock".  Regards WJP
